During XXVI International Scout Conference in Houston Texas, Scouters from most Interamerican Scout Region countries were interviewed about the importance of Scouting. All videos are less than a minute as we were using Instagram Story that limit the videos to 15 seconds. Other videos were uploaded to Instagram with a limit of 60 seconds. Watch all videos via instagram.com/scoutmasterjose. Search #InstaScoutInterview and #InstaScoutStory.
You can also see short videos about 2017 JamCam, 2017 MOOT, and 2019 World Scout Jamboree. Candidates for 2023 World Scout Jamboree from Poland and South Korea also did their short videos. Instagram Story feature was also used to initiate theses videos. Search hashtag #InstaScoutInterview displayed the #TopPosts.
#Scoutoons idea came from the #TopPosts screen in Instagram and the branding of IAR70, IASC2016 and #MessengersOfPeace in our #2015WSJ belt. #TopPosts are: #ScoutsHonduras Lecheton, #ScoutsVenezuela #YouthForum, Joao Goncalves, #WOSM Committee Chairperson, #Vision2023, #VenturingNationalPresident, #BadenPowell, #ScoutsSouthKorea #2023WSJ, #2019WSJ #ScoutsCanada #ScoutsUSA #ScoutsMexico, #ScoutsArgentina #ScoutsUruguay, and Fr. This is the report made by First Coast News NBC Channel 12 about the 100 years of Scouting. Scoutmaster Says Scouts Saved His Life.
February 8th, 2010 marked the 100 years of the Boy Scouts of America. First Coast News NBC Channel 12 made a report on FSCJ Kent Campus to celebrate the date. News reporter Roger Weeder covered many points during the interview. However, TV News time is very limited and it only focused on one area. I am very thankful for the opportunity to share the story and for the lesson about the importance of being prepared to save a life.
We covered other areas such as the connection between Scouting skills and method with Management topics that we cover in our courses. We also covered the importance of teaching youth leadership skills at an early age and how we are using the same concepts we teach in the BSA National Youth Leadership Training in college courses and life lessons. Finally, I explained the BSA core values to emphasize during Scouting Centennial year: Leadership, Achievement, Character, Service, and Outdoors. In our Supervision and Management courses we also emphasize the same values.
Thanks again for the opportunity to celebrate 100 years of Leadership training.
The inaugural Capstone course in Supervision and Management brings real challenges to our students. The requirements include a case study, individual presentations, discussion questions, a business simulation and company presentation among other things such as Twitter updates, mentors, and guest speakers. Students have to be prepared to get “lost, and “survive” Capstone Island and our “shark tank”. It is a challenge with the reward of being the first class in the BAS in Supervision and Management program.
A new year and a new term for family, friends, students and professors. It is time to close and evaluate our year. It is time to communicate our best wishes using all current media and means. Bells, music, parties, family and friends will remind us about our personal beliefs. It is time for new plans and goals. Make them a reality. Happy Holidays to y’all. See you next year in two weeks.
