Global Messengers of Peace is an initiative to serve our local communities and other communities around the world by using UN Sustainable Development Goals as building blocks of peace. Goals are embedded into courses as part of Global Learning and Engagement initiatives. Project also use current Scouting Messengers of Peace projects to related them to the Goals and share them as best practices in other countries.
Scouts, as local Messengers of Peace, also learn from other projects. Scouts in one location could collaborate with other projects by sending donations, books, or providing resources. Scouts can replicate successful projects and share their own projects using social media.
We will use our social media resources fb.com/scoutingadventures (English), fb.com/NoticiasScouts (Spanish), our video channels, and Scouting blogs (Scouting Adventures). We will also combine information with our university partners Global Learning News and fb.com/globallearnnews.
Events and initial resources include:
International Peace Day Labyrinth (Sep 21, 2016 at Florida College of Jacksonville)
Hiroshima: 70 Years Later: Origamis for Peace
TEDxFSCJ Salon about Youth, Leadership, Technology, and Peace.
